Juan Gallardo (Christopher Rydell) dreams of becoming a matador (bullfighter).
He runs away from home despite his mother's objections, and ends up causing the death of his best friend because of his reckless actions.
While wandering the country, Juan meets Donna Sol (Sharon Stone), an aristocrat.
The beautiful and arrogant Donna provokes Juan, inflicts pain on his ego, and then coldly casts him out.
In response to Donna's treatment, Juan makes up his mind and leaves his hometown, leaving his girlfriend Carmen (Ana Torrent) behind, to formally study bullfighting.
